SURVEY — The process by which a parcel of land is measured and its area is ascertained. SYNDICATE — A partnership organized for participation in a real estate venture. Partners may be limited or unlimited in their liability. (See real estate syndicate.) TAKE-OUT LOAN — The loan arranged by the owner or builder developer for a buyer. The construction permanent mortgage loan. TAX — Enforced charge exacted of persons, corporations and organizations by the government to be used to support government services and programs. TAX DEED — The deed given to a purchaser at a public sale of land held for nonpayment of taxes. It conveys to the purchaser only such title as the defaulting taxpayer had.
