5/2024 Manufactured home A manufactured home is built in a factory in accordance with the “HUD Code”, or HUD Manufactured Home Construction and Safety Standards, then transported to the placement site. Each transportable section is identified as HUD Code compliant by a red certification label attached to the exterior. Factory-built homes that were built after June 15, 1976 are considered manufactured homes. Factory-built homes constructed before June 15, 1976 are known as mobile homes.
