5/2024 GSE loan or mortgage Congress. A GSE loan or mortgage refers to a mortgage owned by Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac. Modules 5.1, 5.2 Gross income Money earned before taxes and other deductions. May include income from selfemployment, rental property, alimony, child support, public assistance payments, and retirement benefits. Modules 2.1, 2.2, 4.1, 5.1, 5.3 Ground Rent Money paid by a tenant to a landlord when the tenant owns the dwelling or structure but does not own the land on which the residence is situated. In such cases, the tenant may take out a loan to purchase the dwelling, but must also pay rent for the land. Also called lot rent.
